Prophecy and Action Films
You can buy a lot of 2012 DVDs, from the Roland Emmerich directed blockbuster with the eponymous title to the Nostradamus special on the History Channel to 2012 Doomsday, which was a bit more independent and religious themed. By far the most famous 2012 movie to date is the movie 2012 with John Cusack, Woody Harrelson, and Danny Glover. It may have the best limo driving scene of all time, which is an achievement considering all the places driven by the Trasporter. One of the intersesting features of the 2012 DVD is the special features with an alternate ending that you have to see to believe. Without giving away too many details, let's just say that it makes the movie look silly and unrealistic, which is saying a lot considering that you just watched the whole world fall apart while Mr. Cusack somehow managed to stow away on a special ship being built in the Himalayas. This film is also notable for the amount of sheer destruction visited upon the planet short of being blown away as was done in the Nicholas Cage film Knowing. Roland Emmerich is famous for destroying landmarks in movies, and once again he manages to wreck the White House, this time with water instead of with fire as he did in Independence Day. Overall, the Blu-Ray for this film is a really good one for visual effects on an HDTV, and if you want to test the clarity of your TV screen the whole limo driving sequence (all the way up to where they take off in the plane and avoid buildings and trains) can justify the purchase of an expensive set when you see all the fine details that went into making the film. As anyone who sees a movie like this know, the story is usually driven by the effects, so as long as you turn off enough of your brain, this is a fun film for the whole family.
